Michelle and Rob love Brooklyn and enjoy being non-traditional. It was a great fit to take their engagement session to a bright and funky new art installation in Brooklyn.
Michelle shares, “Rob and I met 8 years ago working in an after-school program. I was working as a tutor and he was an activity specialist in charge of running field trips. We are both introverted, so it took some time for us to get to know each other. I began to admire him when I saw him lead the school trips. He appeared so strong, adventurous, mysterious and committed to his job, which were qualities that I found extremely attractive. Shortly after, I was invited to his birthday party and we hit it off from there. Our connection was undeniable and we have been together ever since.
Almost 3 years ago, we had a beautiful baby boy named Gabriel. He is the sunshine of our lives and we are SO lucky to have him! During Christmas morning of 2013, we were all getting ready to celebrate with Rob’s family. Suddenly, I saw Gabriel walking out of the room with a ring box! When I opened the box I was overjoyed to see a beautiful engagement ring. At that moment, Rob took the ring and proposed on one knee. It was certainly the best Christmas ever!”
This art installation is perfectly called Just The Two of Us. The bright colors and sculptural fragments were so much fun to photograph!
Walking around Brooklyn we found this awesome graffiti, “MARRY ME!”
We headed over to the Brooklyn Bridge area for some more photos with the gorgeous view.
Michelle and Rob are getting married this summer at the beautiful Wave Hill, a New York public garden and cultural center.
Michelle continues, “This August 30th, we will be celebrating our journey with all of our closest friends and family. We come from very different backgrounds so our wedding will be incredibly diverse. We chose to do our wedding in a garden because we are a very peace and nature loving couple.”
Happy engagement Michelle and Rob!
