Tracy and Enis met and fell in love in NYC, so it was the perfect place to have their wedding! The day began with Tracy getting ready with her mom and sister at a hotel in Long Island City.
Tracy and Enis shared a first look before the wedding ceremony. They were both so excited to see each other as Tracy walked up to Enis in Gantry State Park.
It sprinkled a little bit, but didn’t stop us from getting some great shots. The mist made the green leaves extra vibrant and they got a romantic umbrella moment!
The ceremony took place on the rooftop at the Vista Sky Lounge.
Many personal touches and memorable moments made the wedding day extra special. Tracy shares, “Enis and I wanted to incorporate elements from our different heritages in our wedding: Albanian and Chinese. We gave out multiple favors to our guests: an organza bag filled with five Jordan almonds in the Mediterranean tradition to symbolize health, wealth, happiness, children, and a long life, favor boxes shaped like lucky red envelopes with the Chinese double happiness symbol on them, and chocolate lollipops with the Albanian double headed eagle on them. I wore a Chinese inspired red dress during the cocktail hour and the reception. We had our guests sign a Chinese silk tablecloth instead of a guest book. We performed a Chinese tea ceremony and served tea to our parents, uncles and aunts. We danced to several Albanian songs, including one in which Enis, according to Albanian tradition, was supposed to set a cloth napkin on fire to signify the end of his bachelorhood. Given that we were indoors at the Vista Sky Lounge, we didn’t set fire to anything.
Speaking of the Vista Sky Lounge, we had originally chosen that venue because of the beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline. Too bad it rained on our wedding! It drizzled all during our first look photo session at Gantry State Park in Long Island City. There was a light mist during our pre-ceremony cocktail hour. Then it was cloudy for the rest of the night. Fortunately, it had stopped raining right before our ceremony, which was so much fun! We didn’t have any rituals or readings; rather, our celebrant told our guests the back story of our love and joked about our relationships with our (now) mothers-in-law.
Enis and I wanted our wedding to be a fun one. The food was delicious, the alcohol was flowing and everyone was dancing. We had a great time and we hope that all our guests did too!”
Congratulations Tracy and Enis!
