The bride and groom were married on a beautiful summer day at a lake home they rented in Colorado. Like so many couples this year, their plans changed, but they were able to make the most of it! Their immediate families joined them in their celebration.

First look!

After the first look, we went to the nearby Roxborough State Park for portraits. Roxborough State Park is full of incredible rock formations giving it the nickname, “Denver’s Garden of the Gods.”

After walking through the Fountain Valley Overlook area, we headed back to the house for the ceremony.

The family all worked together to decorate the yard with white flowers and eucalyptus, lanterns and special touches.

The bride’s brother performed the ceremony.

A new kind of family portrait.

The bride shares, “Our original wedding plan was a more traditional weekend at a hotel with many more friends and family, but we ended up having a small backyard ceremony at an Airbnb with just our immediate families and grandparents, which allowed us to have a lot of family time during the week. It was nice to be together after not seeing everyone for so long (#2020).

We chose to DIY all of the flower arrangements and ceremony/reception set-up. Our families helped us with the prep work the day before to turn the Airbnb into a beautiful wedding venue. We are so grateful for all of their help!

The day was filled with lots of love (and good food). One of our favorite moments was when our siblings surprised us with a family game show that they had organized with our extended family. It was a special way to include our whole family on our wedding day, and it was a lot of fun.”

The couple shared their first dance to Van Morrison’s Moondance.

The couple has ties to Pittsburgh and one of the family favorite’s is Prantl’s Bakery’s burnt almond torte, which they had delivered for the occasion.

I can attest it is delicious!

The bakery boasts, “The torte has been named the Best Cake in America by the Huffington Post, the Best of Weddings Cakes by the Knot in 2018, and the Best Cake In Pennsylvania by the Food Network in 2018 and continues to be a Pittsburgh tradition today.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Comments Off on Breckenridge Summer Wedding

We need some sunshine right now! Our summery micro-wedding inspiration, at Blackstone Rivers Ranch in Colorado, showcases a sunny color palette and some unique and fun ideas for couples who are getting currently planning their wedding.

I partnered with Blue Linden Weddings to create a style with sunbursts of flowers, an experiential invitation to livestream the wedding, custom cookies that match the wedding cake, welcome baskets with catered snacks, and a whole lot of joy. Please see the bottom of the post for full credit info.

Blackstone Rivers Ranch is nestled up in the mountains of Idaho Springs, Colorado. It is a private sanctuary away from crowds with outdoor spaces for a ceremony, reception and even a first dance. Their large tent also helps with weather concerns and open air flow that allows for a safer option for the guests.

The invitation suite by Tasha Rae Designs is bright and happy with a yellow color palette and delicate watercolor floral and greenery design.

Florals by Amore Fiori made quite the bursting statement with bright yellow, orange, and pink blooms reminiscent of a fiery, sunshiney sky. A  horseshoe altar piece brought in the elements of sunshine rays, while keeping the color palette slightly more neutral and subdued, so the bride and groom could really stand out. Their tabletop display brought the sunshine theme even further – with lush greens and hanging amaranthus cascading the edges, and bright blooms bursting all throughout the centerpiece, it made quite the statement on the table.

The hair and makeup styling by Wise Artistry gave the bride and bridesmaid a perfect Colorado summer look–effortless, natural and beautiful.

Britany and Michael just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary! We were so lucky to have them be a part of our day, along with Britany’s good friend, Caillie.

This special wedding event had two invitations: one to attend and one to join on the livestream.

How do you invite someone to livestream a wedding? With an invitation experience! Tasha Rae created a box that includes champagne glasses, champagne gummy bears, confetti, a cookie with a depiction of the real wedding cake hand-painted on it from The Little Peach, along with information to attend virtually.

An installation was also made to celebrate all of the family and friends who are “together, apart.” Rather than a traditional escort design, these hanging suncatchers list the names and locations of loved ones who are viewing through a livestream online.

Harvest to Home catering created a welcome basket for guests to enjoy as they arrive at the ceremony. This concept allows guests to minimize their contact with others while still enjoying a personalized treat: Harvest to Home Trail Mix (almonds, dried cherries, coconut flakes, dark chocolate chunks, granola clusters), gourmet pretzel sticks, sparkling water, monzu cheese crackers, and a Palisade peach and mini local fruit preserve.

The wedding rings from Sarah O. Jewelry are rose gold and the bride’s ring features a galaxy diamond as part of their cosmos collection.

I love shooting at Blackstone River Ranch because the property includes so many amazing spots for wonderful photos–the river, of course!, towering evergreens, a field of Aspen trees, romantic string lights, a wooden bridge, a large sail cloth tent for a reception and so much charm.

Brittany, your smile is like sunshine!

Harvest to Home catering created summer-inspired cocktails including a grilled pineapple mojito and summer crush mimosas along with an incredible meal.

Zahra Ammar created monogram quill paper chair backs for the dinner table. These beautifully detailed pieces are unique additions to a wedding day and special keepsakes!

The dinnerware, provided by AllWell Rents, features an organic leaf pattern perfect for an outdoor setting. The gold touches add elegance to the table.

Appetizers included a Palisade peach balsamic bruschetta on a haystack mountain goat cheese crostini and mango and rocky ford melon gazpacho shooters.

The wedding cake, by The Little Peach, is bright, bold and joyful. The cake design centers around handmade, iced flowers, including a hot pink poppy, yellow rose, orange hydrangea and orange berries and dried orange slices. The cake is mirrored in custom, hand painted cookies, included in the invitation box. Mini individual cakes are also placed at each table setting to give each guest a special treat. The mini cake concept allows for less touch points on the wedding day and makes for a safer option for guests.

Hillhound Productions captured all the joy and worked with the couple to offer the livestream option to their guests from afar.

Look for me at the one minute mark!

Mindy and Michael were married on a beautiful September day at the Brooklyn Winery. The day began at the St. Regis hotel and with photos in Central Park.

Mindy met Michael at the southeast corner of Central Park for their first look.

Mindy and Michael began working together at SafeRent in 2010 and really got to know each other in 2015 through work. Mindy shares, “I was so impressed with his charm, chivalry and of course, his professionalism. I knew at once that Michael was a wonderful person and was so glad he was in my life”

Michael asked Mindy to marry him in Central Park on April 21 of this year.

Mindy had a special surprise for Michael. She shares, “He was certain I got him a watch as a wedding gift. Instead I bought him a necklace he had admired in Peru (the week before the wedding) but didn’t buy and put it in an empty watch box. It was great to see his surprise (and confusion) when he opened the gift. We chose the cufflinks he wore for the wedding together in Peru as well.”

Mindy shares, “The wedding was better than I ever imagined it would be. My fascination with Indian culture and weddings inspired the decor and color scheme for our wedding. Kehrin made this vision come to life with a hint of Indian tradition paired with a color palette that was bright and vibrant with beautiful traditional floral garlands. The winery’s warmth from the reclaimed wood succulent wall, paired with the modern concrete floor and light filled atrium made for a perfect venue for what turned out to be a dream wedding for me. Seeing the room set for dinner prior to the guests entering brought tears to my eyes. It was magical and everything I imagined.

I loved everything about the day, from the luxurious room at the St Regis to getting ready with my darling nieces to seeing Michael for the first time in Central Park to walking down the aisle and seeing everyone I love in one place to pronouncing our love in front of them all to the delectable black and white cake from Amy’s Bread. It was all just perfect.

Michael forgetting his vows at home, his button popping off of his tuxedo when he was getting ready and my veil catching fire during my procession all just added to the special memories from the day. I was so honored to have my mother walk me down the aisle and give me away, my best friend standing beside me and my brother reading in the ceremony and sharing his lovely daughters as flower girls. My heart is so full. Our first dance was punctuated by Dorothy, my oldest niece, twirling around Michael and I. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.”

Congratulations Mindy and Michael!

Rachel shares, “One of my favorite moments of the day was the first look. It was so exciting and emotional to see Michael for the first time that day, and when I went to tap him on the shoulder I could feel the tears coming! For me, that was really the moment that kicked off the day and made everything feel so real.”

The ceremony was held outdoors under the beautiful summer sky.

Michael shares, “My favorite moment of the day was breaking the glass at the end of the ceremony. Not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous that the glass wouldn’t break, but then I heard the crack and the resounding mazel tov! I was so excited and happy to finally be married to Rachel.”

Rachel shares, “I would say our wedding style was classic and elegant. We fell in love with Brooklake Country Club as soon as we went to see the venue. The golf course setting was perfect and so picturesque for an outdoor ceremony followed by the reception in the beautiful ballroom. We chose primarily neutral colored florals in ivory and blush with pops of pink and greenery, which stood out nicely against the bridesmaids’ black dresses.”

Congratulations Rachel and Michael!
