Sarah and Will love Old Town Alexandria. The charming homes, cool doors and beautiful fall colors are so lovely–the city is so picturesque! We were able to get tons of wonderful photos during their two hour engagement session.
Sarah shares, “William and I met online. We were both very new to the online dating world and were lucky enough to find each other on our respective second dates. Our first date was in Old Town Alexandria, where William was in the process of moving. We met at the corner of King St and Union St and then walked up the road to a small coffee/wine bar called Grape and Bean. We talked for several hours. It was one of the easiest conversations I have ever had in my life. I was struck by how much we have in common and how many similar or shared experiences we had like growing up in northern Virginia but living and studying overseas as adults. It is almost like we spent the later part of our childhoods and our early years in adulthood passing like ships in the night. We finally found each other though so that is what matters.
We wanted to do our shoot in Old Town because it’s home to a lot of our first and significant memories together: our first date, our first apartment together, and it’s where William proposed.”
Sarah continues, “We are getting married in December. We originally talked about a spring or fall wedding but I had to travel a lot for work this year and, if I am being honest, we just did not want to wait for another year to cycle around. We both are really looking forward to a Christmas wedding and it will be here before we know it! We think it will be a wonderful way to kick-off the holiday season with so many of our close friends and family.”
Happy Engagement Sarah and Will!
