Megan and Aaron are awesome. I shot their engagement portraits last fall and so thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and hearing their story. They are both teachers, so full of joy and SO happy together.
Megan and Aaron had a beautiful garden wedding in the backyard of the Groom’s Grandmother’s home in Alexandria, VA. I was blown away by the space that felt like we had stepped into a scene from wonderland.
The ceremony was delayed by the officiant, who unfortunately mixed up the dates and had to rush to the wedding. As the couple waited for the officiant to arrive, both of them were saying the same thing to friends and family: “I just want to get married!” They hadn’t seen each other since the day before, and just wanted to be with each other again!
I asked Aaron what his favorite moment from the day was, “Seeing Megan walking down the aisle and knowing that I’m about to marry my best friend.”
From Aaron,”We both loved our recessional song, “Best Friend” by Weezer. Though our first dance was to a country song, “Then” by Brad Paisley, our first song heard as a married couple was a Weezer song, setting the tone for an exciting, fun-filled evening and life together!”
I sometimes get a little teary-eyed at weddings, I definitely got teary during the first dances! Laughter is infectious and joyful tears are, too!
A note from the couple, “Everyone says that the whole day goes by in a flash, and they were right. Megan and I made it to our hotel that night and thought, “Did that just happen? I didn’t even get to see the cupcakes!”
