Olga and David were married at the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew. Before the ceremony the bridal party and family members gathered in historic Sandy Spring, Maryland, at the Woodlawn Manor.

The day began with a first look. David and Olga, you two have the sweetest expressions here!

This part of the day ended up being one of the couple’s favorites. Olga told me, “We both really enjoyed the first look photos and having that time with each other. It was a much more private moment than if we had chosen to first see each other at the ceremony.”

Olga and her sister, Maria, were adopted. Olga’s locket held a special tribute to her birth parents that passed away thirteen years ago. She explains, “I wanted to do something special just as a reminder that they were both still in my heart and made me who I am today and that, without their love, I would not have been standing at the altar on my wedding day.”

Olga and David were engaged on New Year’s Eve in Moscow.

Olga shared the story with me, “I grew up in Russia until I was 12 years old and then was adopted and brought to America. David knew that my dream was to always come back to Russia with him so that he could meet my family and see where I grew up. We arrived in Moscow on New Year’s Eve 2010. David knew that I really loved The Cathedral of Christ the Savior and planned to propose there that evening. After a long walk in the cold, icy weather to the church we carefully made our way inside to come upon a candlelight service. It was beautiful, warm, and romantic.

As we came upon a corridor, David turned to me with a big grin on his face. He said he had a question to ask me, got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I said yes. I told him to get up off the floor and he kissed me. We walked outside the church to celebrate the moment with midnight fireworks on the bridge over the Moscow River.”

After the portraits, everyone made their way to the church for the ceremony.

At the end of the day, all the guests lined the path in front of the church for a bubble send-off.

Congratulations Olga and David!
