Dawn and Dan were married on a sunny day in April on Long Island. Preparations began at Dawn’s parent’s home with help from her sister and mother.
The bridesmaids looked so beautiful in lavender gowns.
The ceremony took place at Saint Agnes Cathedral.
Dawn shared with me, “We love St. Agnes Cathedral. It is incredibly beautiful, and Agnes is Dan’s mother’s name. We know she will be watching over us on our wedding day.”
The flower girl, Dan’s niece, Lily, has the sweetest smile!
The reception was held along the water at the Bayview House in Bay Shore, Long Island.
Dan proposeed on October 21, 2011. I had the pleasure of photographing Dawn and Dan’s engagement portraits at the Cloisters last fall.
They shared their first dance to Overwhelmed by Tim McMorris:
“From the first time I saw you
I knew that you’d be mine
And from the first glance you gave
My world it slowed, you stopped the time
And in that moment I could see all of the things that we would be
You were the girl I was waiting for, that I would ask to marry me“
Dawn’s father, Mike, grew up ballroom dancing with his sisters. He shared a beautiful father-daughter dance with Dawn to You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban.
And then the party got started!
