I met Leslie and Raj in Gantry State Park in Long Island City for their engagement session. It was a beautiful day with amazing views of the city skyline–the perfect place to celebrate their engagement!
Leslie shares, “We initially connected on OkCupid about five years ago. Our first date was at a Malaysian restaurant on a particularly cold winter evening. We were both nervous and made bad menu choices, but we still had a great time getting to know each other. It only took a few more dates to realize that we wanted to spend as much time together as possible.
We got engaged on my birthday this year, after we got home from my birthday dinner.”
Raj shares, “A few years ago we decided we wanted to be with each other forever and moved in together. I chose to propose to Leslie in our apartment because it represents that earlier decision.”
Leslie continues, “We often take walks from our home in Sunnyside to Long Island City to visit Gantry Plaza State Park, so it was a natural choice of location for our engagement shoot. We consider ourselves “city people” so we liked the idea of the skyline featuring prominently in some of our photographs. In fact, one of our priorities when searching for a wedding venue was that it had a city view.”
Leslie and Raj will be getting married in the summer at the Manhattan Penthouse. Happy engagement you two!
