Shira and David were married on a beautiful September day in the Colorado mountains.

The morning started off with a funny complication that turned out making a great story!

Shira shares, “We were at the venue getting ready when my fabulous wedding planner, Meghan, popped her head in to let me know that my groom was pantsless! He had forgotten his tuxedo pants at home, about an hour away. We were supposed to be doing our first look in 5 minutes. To ease the stress and make it a fun memory, Meghan suggested we make him pose in his boxers! It’s one of my favorite moments from the day. My brother, our officiant, saved the day by lending David his pants for the first look. By the time the ceremony rolled around, David had his pants back and all was well.”
(This photo was shared with the groom’s permission!)

Shira shares, “We wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities, so we chose a venue in the mountains and a style that reflected our love of outdoors. The florals were so beautiful, with a messy, wildflower-type look. The centerpieces were our favorite part of the decor; they featured real skulls of a variety of animals, including fox, raccoon, turtle, bat, mink… and the sweetheart table featured a gorgeous roe deer. I collect skulls, so all of these specimens will be treasured forever. We are also having my bouquet dried and pressed to preserve and display.

We met on the online dating app Bumble, and chose to honor that with matching bee hair pins for me and cuff links for him.

One of our favorite details from the day was our shoes – we had so much fun picking them out!”

Shira continues, “My brother did an amazing job officiating our ceremony beneath a chuppah that my aunt handstitched from linens from both of our families. We had some of our closest friends and family read blessings to honor us, and we signed our gorgeous ketubah created by David Fisher in Israel.

Our Hora lasted about 45 minutes and we were both SO sweaty and tired after that, but it was a night we will never forget. We had the most wonderful band, and had a blast dancing the night away with our friends and family. Some of my closest friends from back home in Boston sang for us, which was very special. The food was unbelievable as well, and we enjoyed taking a break from the dancing to toast some s’mores on the bonfire.

Following the wedding, we had a short honeymoon at the Broadmoor Cloud Camp on top of Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. David’s grandparents had their honeymoon at the Broadmoor as well, and even visited the top of Cheyenne Mountain and took a photo together. We managed to find the exact same location and took a photo as well!”

Shira and David danced their first dance to Leon Bridges’, Beyond.

Congratulations Shira and David!
