I met Taneshia and Earl at the University of Delaware for their engagement portraits. The campus is special to them because they met there in 2006 when Taneshia was a sophomore and Earl was in the last semester of his senior year.
Taneshia shares, “U of D was special to us since it was where we met and forged the early stages of our relationship. We still talk about how we used to sit in Earl’s car “Burgundy” and listen to the Best of Michael Jackson CD when we were dating. We originally wanted to take our wedding portraits on the University’s campus, but that idea went out the window when we decided to get married two hours away in the Poconos. So we decided to have our engagement photos taken there instead!”
They were raised in Delaware, Earl is from Wilmington and Taneshia is from New Castle–only 10 miles apart. They both currently work at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Taneshia is a registered nurse and Earl is a medical laboratory scientist.
Taneshia shared with me, “We got engaged on Memorial Day in 2012. I woke up to find Earl messing around with my hand. When I pulled my hand free I saw he had placed a beautiful diamond ring on my finger. I looked up at him and said “You got my ring!” and he responded with “Will you marry me?””
Earl shares, “Taneshia must have known that she wanted to marry me early on, because the second time that I came to her parents’ house to visit, all of her family came over “coincidentally.” Two uncles, two aunts, and her grandparents just happened to stop by. I quickly left. To this day she still swears that it was not a setup and to this day I still do not believe her!”
Earl went on to say, “I am looking forward to the memories and laughs that we will share for years to come.”
They will be getting married in the Poconos next October.
Happy Engagement Taneshia and Earl!
