I met Shira and David on a warm September evening at Red Rocks to celebrate their engagement.

Shira shares, “David and I met in northern Colorado, on the dating app Bumble. I was in training to be a veterinarian and have been a lifelong animal lover. Logically, my profile stated “swipe left if you’re allergic to dogs, cats, or horses.” David is allergic to all three, and still swiped right. I can’t quite remember when the truth came out, but it was already too late.

Our first date was at New Belgium in Fort Collins… then Tasty Harmony… then Union. We were having way too much fun to end the date! After eventually parting ways, we met back up the next day to go hiking at Gray Rock, and David brought along his pup Niko. I was hooked.

David and I cultivated our relationship slowly through my challenging years in veterinary school and his demanding years of family medicine residency. After three years together, I headed off to an internship in Washington, DC, and David moved to Montana to start his career in rural family medicine.

I came to Montana to visit David over the new year where he proposed on horseback on the top of a snowy mountain. It was beautiful! I just about froze my left hand off on the way down – I didn’t want to put my glove back on!

Since then, I’ve finished my internship and moved out to Montana to join David. We’re settling into a small cabin at the base of the gorgeous Mission mountains, and have continued acquiring animals. Right now we have three dogs, a snake, and a horse!

Our relationship formed and grew in Colorado, a state that is not only David’s childhood home, but now is a very special place to us. We took our engagement photos at Red Rocks, the site of one of our early dates to see Lake Street Dive, and we’re so excited to marry in the mountains of Colorado in 2023!”

The couple is getting married next September in Colorado. Congratulations Shira and David!

Catherine and Steve were married on a beautiful summer day in September. They live very close to City Park, so the day began in their home and then we went for a first look in the park.

After taking photos around city park we headed to Space Gallery for the ceremony.

Catherine shares, “My favorite part of our wedding day was the ceremony. I loved seeing Steve as I walked down the aisle. My younger brother Hugh officiated our ceremony and it was the perfect balance of being touching and hilarious. We also asked our moms to choose a reading and it was great to see them coordinate during the month leading up to our big day. My absolute favorite moment was turning and seeing all of our wonderful family and friends that had come to celebrate with us.

Steve shares, “My favorite moment was the end of our first dance. That was the part I was most nervous about. We practiced for hours and hours and it turned out great! Having Claire (Catherine’s sister) sing, Ingrid Michaelson’s made it really extraordinary.”

Bo, the couple’s sweet pup, enjoyed cocktail hour the most, specifically when he got to eat part of a lamb meatball that was dropped to the floor. He was a good sport for wearing his custom dog tuxedo.

Congratulations Catherine and Steve!

Ellen and Zach were married on a beautiful August day in Denver at the historic Grant-Humphreys Mansion. The mansion was built in 1902 in the Beaux-Arts style.

The ceremony took place on the front steps of the mansion.

Both Zach and Ellen come from musical families. During the ceremony, his mom and her dad performed a very special rendition of In My Life by the Beatles.

Ellen shares, “We chose Grant Humphreys Mansion because we love historic homes and think the mansion is beautiful. Another reason the Grant Humphreys is special to us is that it is in the neighborhood we lived in together for years and also the neighborhood where Zach and his family grew up. The mansion was perfect for our wedding. We really enjoyed having different spaces for different parts of the evening such as the terrace for cocktail hour, dining in the dining room, and dancing in the ballroom downstairs.

Our friends at Little Lula Rose blew us away with the flowers for the wedding. We were hoping for unique, lovely flowers and they certainly delivered.

The band, Diamond Empire, were so talented and so much fun! We absolutely loved the music !

We had such a fun day and evening, everything came together so well. What really made our day so wonderful was having all of our loved ones together to celebrate with us.”

Congratulations Ellen and Zach!

Sarah and Noah were married at the Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park. The day started off with rain, but quickly turned out to be beautiful!

Before the traditional chuppah ceremony, Sarah and Noah shared a private ceremony to read their own personal vows to each other.

Sarah shares, “We met at the senior prom in high school in Arizona and went to college across the country from each other, so Colorado was the first place we ever lived together. We got to finally start our life together, and even adopted our dog there. We love the mountains so it’s no surprise Noah proposed on an Alpine lake hike in Breckenridge. He held onto the ring from February until my birthday hike in October.

We chose Estes Park so our guests could explore the Rocky Mountain trails we love so much. The views did not disappoint on our wedding weekend.

We had a traditional Jewish ceremony, so we exchanged our vows and wedding bands in private. Having this intimate time to ourselves was really special.”

It is a Jewish custom for the bride to circle around the groom seven times.

Congratulations Sarah and Noah!

Lilly and John were married at the beautiful Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado.

Lilly’s middle name is rose so, of course, her bouquet was filled with beautiful lilies and roses!

Lilly shares, “John and I met in high school while hiking with friends, and began dating when he asked me to our junior prom. He proposed on Christmas, 2020 on the same hike and I made his plans as difficult as possible to carry out (I didn’t want to go hiking, I wanted to set up the new litter box I had gotten that day) but in the end everything went smoothly and I said yes.

Our favorite part of the day was definitely celebrating with the people who were there. We got married surrounded by our closest friends and family. Having people with us who care so much about us made the day special. We also loved how meaningful it was to write our own vows.”

One of the best features of Spruce Mountain Ranch is their outdoor dance floor. The wide open space with twinkling lights allows for dancing under the stars!

Congratulations Lilly and John!
