Sylvia and Josh met me along the cobblestone streets of Soho for their engagement portraits.
Sylvia was born in El Salvador and Josh was born in Maryland. They both ended up moving to the NYC area with their families at an early age. They met about 9 years ago while working in the city, quickly becoming friends.
Sylvia shares, “Little did we know everything that was to come. We celebrated 7 years together this past October.”
Sylvia continues, “We share many of the same hobbies, we both love traveling, volunteering at animal shelters, Christmas and NYC, and we bonded over our love of Indian food.”
“We chose to have our engagement shoot in SoHo because it is one of the areas that we used to hang out in as friends. We love the architecture there, the many eclectic shops and restaurants, the closeness to Chinatown, Little Italy and the Lower East Side. It’s such a fun place and has been a part of our lives these past years together.”
Sylvia shares, “We are expecting twin boys in January and we are so happy and thankful for this very important moment in our lives.”
We love enjoying the outdoors together, “I spent many Christmases in Vermont so I was familiar with the outdoors, the mountains and many farms that this state is famous for. A few years back I convinced Josh that we should drive to Vermont and he loved it so much that we now drive there at least once a year. We love canoeing and cycling and even take our Maltese dog, Josie, with us.
We knew then that the wedding was going to take place in Vermont. We chose Manchester because it is a beautiful town, close to NYC and surrounded by mountains. The wedding location is going to be Hildene, also known as the Lincoln family house (where Abraham Lincoln’s only surviving son took his summer vacations). The wedding will take place on October 4, 2013. We are very excited to have such a great year ahead of us.”
Happy Engagement Sylvia and Josh!
