I am so excited to share this special styled wedding shoot! It started off with an idea–how can we bring elements of abstract expressionism into the style of a wedding day? This style embodies spontaneous creation and emotional intensity, which makes such a beautiful metaphor for love. Also, art is such an important part of the culture of New York City and I have been dying to find a way to tie artwork into a photo shoot.
With the help of Spectacular Affairs and the Top of the Garden, we pulled together a wonderful team of wedding professionals to create our shoot. Thank you so much to Merci New York for featuring our shoot!
Subtle touches carried through the design like flowers that resemble paintbrushes and earrings that fall like drips of paint. The custom painting in the paper products and table runner was specifically inspired by the art of Cy Twombly.
